Antarctica

Mt. Vinson Massif
Elevation: 16,066 feet / 4897 meters
Optimal months to Climb:Late November to early January

Number of Days to Climb: 10 to 30

The actual climb is 5 to 10 days once you get to Base Camp. But it takes two flights and a lot of waiting just to get there, because of incumbent weather and extremely high winds. It should be noted that the entire expedition could (and probably will) take a month or longer.

Risks and Conditions:One condition is that there are no hospitals on the continent and winds could cause a delay in flying off the continent. Of course, extreme temperatures and storms can be dangerous and cause problems. It can be a dry wind. There are crevasses and you need to carry your own gear while on a rope team. It will be daylight 24 hours a day.
Summary: This is an expensive expedition because Antarctica is still pretty isolated. It is worth it though, as it is the last pristine continent, with vast beauty. Patience is required in Puntas Arenas, Patriot Hills, and Base Camp. Two flights are required each way.

Qualifications: You need to train and, if possible, spend some time at local high altitude to acclimate the body.
